Corporate headshots for your website don't have to be boring, but there are still so many professional firms using very traditional photographs of their executives on their websites and promotional literature. So it was quite refreshing to be given a brief recently when the client said we don't want the subject looking at the camera, and we like pictures that are off-centre
Ooh I can do that. My "studio" of choice at the moment is Episode Hotel In Leamington, it's a great place to meet, the coffee is excellent and there's bags of natural light. I'm not sure light really comes in bags, I think they measure it in foot candles or soemthing but you know what I mean
Lovely light: what you can't see is the large patio umbrella providing top shade
and here's another business portrait also shot at Episode but indoors this time
well it's not always warm enough to shoot outside, you've gotta have a plan B.

I think that this is a great example of how to make headshots very different. Too many photographers use the traditional sit-down studio approach, something that I have been trying to move away from recently. I feel that visiting clients at their offices or shooting outdoors will make the client feel much more confident and relaxed. Thanks for posting!
