The photography should reflect this, fun fresh and interesting but not forgetting to capture the details and family groups (or your mum will never speak to us again)!

Photographing Your Special Day

A good wedding is the best party ever! Best man and best mates. It’s one big emotional day surrounded by your family and friends with everyone looking their best and having fun.

Modern wedding photography is natural and relaxed in style. It's about how you want to reflect the fun and happiness of your wedding day.
But the best, most natural-looking pictures require the imagination, careful planning and skills of a first class professional photographer.

So if it helps, here's my philosophy on wedding photography.

  • Most people prefer natural pictures. But most people need a little direction to help them look natural and that’s what I do best. Helping you relax and have fun, while I set up shots that look great.

  • And photography should be fun … as well as giving you images to treasure. My job is to take away the stress - so you get to enjoy the photo shoot.

  • But it's also about working quickly - one of the advantages of working with an assistant is it's so much faster and the guests love it because we don't keep them hanging around. And of course you get plenty of time to spend with your guests.

Before the day

We'll meet to discuss your requirements, work out the type of pictures you want me to take, who's to be singled out for group shots and so on. I'll check out the venue beforehand if I haven't photographed there before. If it rains, snows or there's a volcanic eruption we'll have a plan B.

I'll offer you a complete breakdown of the cost of photographing your wedding so that you know exactly what you're getting. If you want something special or a little different we can work that out too.

On the day

This is where all that preparation and planning pays off . We will typically start with the bride getting ready a good two hours before the ceremony but because you’ll have two photographers we can also be with the boys whether it’s for that early morning game of golf or the hang over cure.

Leaving for the church to get there at least  half an hour before the ceremony we’ll get some great shots of the groom and his family and friends while making sure we’re set up for some discrete shots during the service.

When you get back from honeymoon, we’ll show you the previews and you’ll relive the day all over again. I offer a wide range of I’ll help you choose the images and design the album with you so you’re involved at every stage.
